Martin Viereckl joined WEST in December 2018 as a GIS Specialist in the Fort Collins, Colorado office. He received his BS in Natural Resource Conservation in 2014 from The University of Montana, and his MS in Geography from the same university in 2018. Prior to working for WEST, Martin worked with the international wild cat advocacy group, Panthera to construct topographic map products for national parks in Senegal and Malaysia. Martin’s graduate research focussed on the use of geospatial tools for improving law enforcement efforts in protected areas focussing on tiger conservation. Martin has also worked as an intern with Missoula County, Montana supporting a number of municipal GIS projects related to public health.
