Katie Wynne began working for WEST in 2015 as a field technician based out of Laramie, Wyoming. She gradually moved into a technical editor role and was promoted to technical editing department coordinator in 2017. When Katie completed her master’s degree in Ecological Restoration from Colorado State University in 2020, she transitioned into a biologist position. Prior to joining WEST, Katie received her B.S. in Biological Science from Colorado State University and worked in a plant community ecology lab, for Colorado State Forest Service, and for another environmental consulting firm.
Katie has ecological experience throughout the Intermountain West and in Kansas. Her field-based experience includes post-construction monitoring surveys, ground-based raptor nest surveys, wildlife population surveys, and vegetation assessments. Today, Katie’s role primarily encompasses environmental permitting, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects, and ecological restoration planning and support.
