Jeff Fruhwirth

GIS Specialist

Jeff Fruhwirth joined WEST in 2014 as a GIS specialist. He graduated with a B.A. in Geography from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2007, and studied at the University of Wyoming until 2009. Prior to joining WEST, Jeff worked for the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) in Wyoming, working on permitting for Oil & Gas Operations. Prior to working for the DEQ he worked with the US Fish & Wildlife Service developing spatially enabled web maps & apps in support of field staff and offices.

Jeff is a certified GIS Professional (GISP) and has over 5 years of experience working in GIS, Map Production and Web Development and Mapping. At WEST, Jeff has focused on large scale vector habitat suitability analysis, for species such as the Whooping Crane. In addition to large scale vector analysis, Jeff works with spatial data management and cartographic support for biological and environmental studies done by WEST, on both Wind and Solar Facilities.
