Rande Patterson joined WEST as a Field Coordinator in the Houston office. Originally from Arkansas, Rande graduated with a B.S. in Ecology and Environmental Biology with Distinction in Research from Rice University. She was selected as a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) participant, where her fascination for the six-legged flourished. She then went on to obtain her Masters in Entomology at Texas A&M University.
Rande’s research background is in ant-plant mutualistic relationships but she has a strong passion for sustainable energy. Before joining WEST, Rande worked as a consultant with SWCA where she gained experience permitting for oil and gas and transportation and conducting wetland delineations and various T&E species surveys including ocelots, jaguarundi, and the American burying beetle.
