Lana Mitchell joined WEST as a Project Coordinator to assist with the Middle Rio Grande Endangered Species Collaborative Program (MRGESCP) in the Albuquerque, New Mexico office. Lana’s experience is in engineering, technical writing, and project administration. She was recently involved with a science and technology division that worked in nuclear regulatory licensing as it pertains to risk-informed safety analysis, her role as an engineer and deputy project manager on several simultaneous projects. Lana has regularly worked with subject matter experts from various government, industry, and commercial entities. She is familiar with chemical laboratory practices and equipment, designing and implementing bench-scale tests including researching, developing and writing test plans and procedures. This work began in graduate level research in water chemistry and aluminum corrosion. She also has experience in office administration including bookkeeping and payroll. She received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico concentrating in Water Resources.
