Marci Trana


Marci Trana joined WEST in 2015 as a biologist in our Minneapolis, Minnesota office. Marci received a B.S. in Zoology and Physiology from University of Wyoming in 2010 and a M. Sc. in Ecology from University of Manitoba in 2014. She started with WEST in November 2014 as a field biologist and currently leads a crew of biologist working on wind energy sites throughout northern Iowa. During her graduate program, Marci researched stress hormones in beluga whales of the Canadian Arctic. As an undergrad, Marci studied dietary differences between river otters using genetic and dietary analyses. She is an expert in DNA, hormone, and stable isotope analyses. She has studied various organisms, including songbirds, raptors, owls, polar bears, whales, seals, foxes, big horn sheep, squirrels, plants, and parasites. She has multiple publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
