Ashley Richmond joined WEST in June 2017 as a Research Biologist and is based in San Diego, California. She received her B.S. in Zoology and Environmental Science and M.S. in Zoology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Over the last ten years, Ashley has gained expertise in renewable energy siting, focusing on development and compliance-related services. She specializes in the interaction between wind energy and wildlife, navigating the complex regulatory environment through permitting and collaboration. Throughout her career as a consultant and while serving as the Director of Siting Policy for the California Wind Energy Association, she has provided technical expertise and industry coordination for three major regional wind energy HCPs in the U.S.: the Great Plains Wind Energy Habitat Conservation Plan, the Midwest Wind Energy Multi-species Habitat Conservation Plan, and the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan.
