US Forest Service

WEST brings together a broad team of ecologists and biometricians that have a wealth of experience working with issues pertinent to the forest industry, and have worked on a range of projects for the US Forest Service. WEST staff have experience designing and conducting field surveys for many forest dwelling/dependent species as well as analyzing and interpreting the data associated with such surveys.

Our staff have a working knowledge of numerous listed and/or sensitive forest species and are familiar with the techniques necessary to study rare and uncommon wildlife and plants. WEST personnel have been trained by the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Section 7 consultation and Habitat Conservation Planning. WEST also has a knowledgeable Geographic Information Systems (GIS) staff that can aid in both the design and analysis of projects that incorporate large sets of spatial data.
