Gretchen Norman joined WEST, Inc. in 2005 as an ecologist who specializes in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance.
Gretchen received her B.A. in Biology in 1989 from The Colorado College; and she received her M.S. in Range Science in 1993
from New Mexico State University.
Gretchen has been involved in the NEPA process for most of her professional career. She has conducted necessary field
investigations, prepared biological assessments, designed and performed threatened and endangered species surveys, evaluated
potential impacts on the environment by proposed military activities, developed and proposed mitigation measures to reduce
or eliminate potential impacts, produced reports presenting relevant information and survey results, and authored several
Environmental Assessments. With WEST, Inc., Gretchen has been assisting in the preparation two Environmental Impact Statements
(EIS): Halligan Seaman Water Supply Project, which is a large scale water supply project for the Cities of Fort Collins and
Greeley; and the Westside Irrigation District EIS, which involves a land transfer from the Bureau of Land Management to the
Westside Irrigation District.
Gretchen, her husband, and three children live in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming where she tries to maintain a balanced life.
